Job Description
Insight Global is hiring for an Assistant Project Manager to join a nationwide provider in IT infrastructure services based out Plymouth, MN. The company specializes in structured cabling, network hardware installation, and low voltage technology solutions. This position will be on-site in Ellendale, ND, supporting a major data center project consisting of multiple buildings. The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with the off-site Project Manager, on-site technicians and the remote project team to drive organization, maintain project documentation, and ensure smooth coordination across construction activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the off‑site Project Manager to ensure all project tasks are completed accurately and reported promptly.
- Work closely with the off‑site Project Manager and on‑site crew to support and maintain the overall project schedule.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to order, track, and manage all required materials and equipment.
- Manage on‑site inventory and maintain accurate documentation of materials, deliveries, and usage.
- Maintain detailed, up‑to‑date records of job progress, including daily tracking reports and administrative logs.
- Communicate regularly with the off‑site Project Manager and on‑site lead technician regarding project status, challenges, and risk areas.
- Capture, organize, and submit all required on‑site deliverables and construction documentation.
- Assist with safety forms, compliance paperwork, meeting notes, and other administrative duties associated with a large construction site.
- Support coordination between trades on a multi‑building data center campus, ensuring information flows smoothly to leadership.

Skills and Requirements
- Proven experience working in new construction or large-scale build environments
- Working knowledge of data centers, structured cabling, or large-scale construction
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; willingness to learn additional tools such as Smartsheet, Autodesk, and ERP systems - Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications or IT infrastructure is a plus
