Job Title: Assistant Project Manager
Job Description
Manage all aspects of facilities, materials, environmental, or geotechnical engineering projects to ensure they are safely completed on time, within scope, and budget. Responsible for completing the project as per its contracted scope, monitoring progress, and performance against the project plan. Troubleshoot and recommend or resolve operational problems to minimize delays. May be responsible for resource management, project scheduling, budgets and forecasts, and working with external vendors, subcontractors, or contractors. Conduct meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project to the project team and client. Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones. Communicate with the client and deliver work products to their satisfaction. Coordinate efforts with APR to ensure engagement throughout the project, particularly at critical junctures. Involved in approving invoices, preparing change orders, and collections.
Responsibilities
+ Manage a small project or one phase of a large project under direct supervision.
+ Implement an established project plan.
+ Identify, resolve, or escalate operational problems and minimize delays.
+ Lead safety efforts, including preparation and compliance with the approved safety plan.
+ Analyze project requirements and perform calculations or write reports and complete deliverables.
+ Coordinate the activities of outside contractors to ensure integration into the project and satisfactory standards of service.
+ Estimate costs, resources, and time required to complete the assigned phase of a project; monitor activities, allocate resources, and assign tasks to ensure targets are met.
+ Conduct project meetings and prepare regular reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
+ Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones.
+ Submit project deliverables to the client as per contract scope and schedule.
+ Deliver work within the approved budget.
+ Coordinate with APR to ensure appropriate oversight and sufficient time for reviews at all critical junctures.
+ Develop understanding and awareness of project-related risk and be familiar with company risk policies.
+ Lead safety efforts for the team and ensure compliance with safety rules and guidelines.
+ Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
+ Monitor and promote quality standards and practices.
+ Provide consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery and engage APRs at project onset.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline practiced by the Firm, including Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology, and a minimum of 2 years of related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of related experience.
+ Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history.
Work Environment
The position involves both office and field work.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $32.69/hr.
