The successful candidate will have extensive experience in screenwriting in university and professional settings. In addition to teaching one course each semester and supervising thesis students in the Master of Fine Arts ( MFA ) in Creative Writing program, the successful candidate will teach two undergraduate screenwriting courses for theatre and film students each semester. Responsibilities include delivering quality instruction to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in screenwriting/scriptwriting workshops, Form and Theory of Screenwriting, History of the Motion Picture, and Cinema Appreciation courses across two departments in the College of Fine Arts. Responsibilities include chairing and serving on MFA thesis committees and general mentoring of students in screenwriting. While the majority of courses will be in-person, a willingness to teach an occasional online course is a plus. Minimum Qualifications · Terminal degree ( MFA , PhD) in Screenwriting or related field from an accredited institution. · Demonstrated potential for high-level scholarly/artistic achievement. · Ability to collaborate with creative writing, and theatre and film faculty, including serving on department, college, and university committees.
