Assistant Manager Financial Reporting

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Manager to join our dynamic NA Analytics Team.  This role supports the delivery of high-quality expense reporting, forecasting financial analysis and working closely with the Distribution Team by managing, analyzing and reconciling expenses and profit commission related activities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance of expense reporting and commission payments, while partnering closely with Controllers, Finance and Distribution.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, expense allocation methodologies experience within the insurance industry preferred. 

Key Responsibilities

Expense Reporting & Financial Analytics

Create, maintain and track GOE budgets for Distribution as well as manage the allocations process.

Process, review and reconcile Distribution related expenses in accordance with company policies.

Monitor expense submissions for accuracy, completeness and track against budget.

Support month end and quarter end close activities related to Distribution Expenses and Production.

Partner with HR and Corporate GOE Team to manage, track and budget headcount and expenses for the Distribution team.

Track individual team member T&E expense and monitor spending against approved budgets highlighting variances and potential risks.

Provide monthly non-machine adjustments to Distribution for Broker 360 Platform as well as reconcile the reports between Distribution and Finance to ensure consistency and alignment.

Commission Support

Assist with the Broker Commission accrual, reconciliation and payment schedule and track P&L impact by Business and Broker.

Investigate and resolve commission inquiries from the Business Units.

Maintain documentation related to commission structures, agreements and adjustments.

Manage and track broker commission payments.

Reporting & Presentations

Prepare and present monthly/quarterly expense reports in a concise, clear and comprehensive format for review by the Distribution Leadership team.

Assist in the preparation of executive level presentations and materials for quarter end business review meetings.

Requirements:

5+ years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis/Reporting with at least 5 years in the insurance industry supporting expenses, commissions and financial operations

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics

Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong business and financial acumen and ability to present issues clearly and concisely

Experience in forecast modeling and with knowledge of business performance metrics.

Hands-on experience working with large complex data sets

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment

Proficiency in Anaplan and SAP BPC software experience a plus

Skilled in building dashboard using Tableau and Power BI
