Assistant Manager - Accounting (Finance)

Leading a team of 4 - 6, this position is responsible for the following: + Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to team, including performance management, and planning for team development to build capability. + Ensure all accounting functions comply strictly with country regulations, company's policies and align with company's strategies that support business development and operational efficiency. + Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), Revenue Recognition, and Cost Accounting. Collaborate closely with Accounting and Operations teams to review processes, implement best practices, and drive productivity improvements. + Oversee the Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) process, including approval for asset acquisitions and disposals, maintaining the Fixed Asset Register, and completing the Annual Inventory Certification. + Perform complete General Ledger (GL) reconciliations such as Proof of Cash, Fixed Assets, and Payroll in preparation for monthly P&L submission. + Contribute to the preparation of internal monthly financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and supporting analyses) for review by Regional and Global Accounting teams. + Prepare and submit statutory filings including Payroll reports, VAT, and Corporate Tax requirements. + Compile financial data for credit assessments and conduct annual credit reviews in accordance with Global Credit Policy. + Assist the Controller with the preparation of statutory financial statements and tax computations. + Provide necessary documentation for Internal Control evaluations as well as Internal and External Audit requirements. + Support the Finance Controller on ad hoc projects and miscellaneous tasks as needed. + Professional Accounting certification or a Degree in Accounting (or equivalent qualification). + Minimum 5 years of working experience, preferably within the freight forwarding industry or a multinational company environment. + Strong experience in financial reporting, taxation, and regulatory compliance. + Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail. + Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel (Formulas, Pivot Tables). + Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels, from operational staff to senior management and convey financial information clearly to both financial and non‑financial stakeholders. + Demonstrated leadership capability and a proactive attitude. + Ability to drive and support process improvements and change initiatives.
