ROLE: Assistant Hygiene Manager
PAY RATE: £17.09 per hour (£40,000 per annum)
CONTRACT: Full Time, Permanent
HOURS: 45 hours per week
SHIFT PATTERN: Monday–Friday (Night Shift), 18:00–03:30 (9 hours per night), 30‑minute unpaid break
LOCATION: Blue Earth Foods, 9B Oxleasow Road, Redditch, Worcestershire, B98 0RE

We're looking for an Assistant Hygiene Manager to support the Site Hygiene Manager in leading and coordinating hygiene operations across all areas of a seafood production facility.

You'll play a key role in ensuring hygiene standards meet food safety, customer and company requirements, while helping maintain a safe, compliant and efficient working environment.

Role Responsibilities Support day‑to‑day management of the hygiene team, ensuring all cleaning tasks are completed to the required standard within designated timeframes. Ensure compliance with hygiene schedules, Cleaning Instruction Cards (CICs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Assist with delivering hygiene training for operatives, including managing CIC sign‑offs and refresher training. Monitor hygiene standards across high‑risk and low‑risk areas. Assist with internal audits and implement corrective actions when required. Maintain accurate hygiene documentation and support audit preparation for customers and regulatory bodies (e.g., BRC, M&S). Collaborate with production, technical and Health & Safety teams to align hygiene practices across the site. Promote continuous improvement and maintain high hygiene standards throughout the facility. Required Qualifications Key Skills & Experience Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment (essential). Experience in hygiene supervision or leadership (advantageous). Strong understanding of food safety standards, COSHH and chemical handling. Ability to lead, motivate and develop hygiene operatives and team leaders. Strong organisational and communication skills.
