A global, growth-oriented organization is seeking an Assistant General Counsel - Data Privacy & Commercial to serve as the primary legal advisor on U.S. data privacy matters while also supporting a broad range of commercial legal needs.

This newly created role partners closely with U.S. and global stakeholders and reports to an Associate General Counsel overseeing employment, commercial, and data privacy matters. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of U.S. federal and state privacy laws and a practical, business-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

Advise on U.S. data privacy compliance and risk management

Monitor and implement responses to emerging privacy laws and guidance

Draft and negotiate data protection and commercial agreement terms

Support privacy impact assessments, incident response, and data subject requests

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and outside counsel

Qualifications

JD and active U.S. bar membership

5+ years of experience in U.S. data privacy law

Experience negotiating privacy and commercial agreements

Healthcare, life sciences, or pharma experience a plus

Privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP/US) preferred
