When you join KB Home, you become part of a team that is passionate about making the dream of homeownership a reality for families across America. **Come be a part of our team!** Learn more . **JOB SUMMARY:** This position will assist the Land Development & Forward Planning department by helping with plan check process and coordinating with outside consultants and various governmental or quasi-governmental agencies to secure approvals and permits to develop lots. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** **Civil and Architectural Approvals:** + Prepare, coordinate and process the following through all governmental approvals: all conceptual and construction drawings for project civil plans and architectural product through staff and public hearings (as needed). + Assist with coordination between KB Architecture, Landscape Architect, Structural Engineer and internal team for the timely design and processing of building plans through design review and construction document approval. + Responsible for revisions made to existing plans and distribution of revised documents to field and purchasing staff. + Review construction documents to ensure proper compliance with the company's construction practices and product selection. + Assist in the generation of required supplemental documents. This includes, but is not limited to: DRE submittals, Lot Fits, Sales Offices, Construction Offices and Model home Complexes. **Department Support:** + Prepare and process consultant contracts, addendums, change orders. + Process/research consultant's invoices; distribute to team members and obtain all necessary approvals. + Prepare new vendor requests and activations. + Acquire, track and exonerate project related bonds (Subdivision Improvement, DRE, Labor & Material, Performance, Tax etc.) + Acquire project related insurance certificates. + Upload required Forward Planning, Land Development and Architectural documents to the Document Management system. Maintain the file system in an organized manner so that documents are readily accessible by Division personnel. + Miscellaneous projects as needed. **EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:** **Education/Certifications/Licenses** + Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred (Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Architecture, Construction Management or similar discipline) **Experience** + 1-2 years prior experience in the building, construction or similar fields with a familiarity in dealing with governmental agencies **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities** + The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. + Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in efficient and accurate manner + Consistently shows attention to detail + Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal + Proven ability to multi-task and complete tasks within a scheduled timeframe + Intermediate computer skills are a necessity (Excel, Office, Outlook) + Ability to stand or sit for extended periods + Ability to move about work location + Ability to drive/travel as needed + Ability to walk up and down stairs + Ability to observe details at close range and communicate information so others will understand + Ability to transport and move up to 20 lbs. and move as needed (for roles in Construction/Customer Service/IT/Land/Marketing/Sales/Studio) + Periodically works in outdoor weather conditions (for roles in Construction/Customer Service/Land/Sales) + Position is located on-site (58 S River Dr, Suite 250, Tempe AZ 85288) #LI-onsite Find out why KB Home is attracting and retaining the best employees!
