Assistant Field Service Engineer
Job Description **Who will you be working with?** You will be working with our field service team who are expertise to ensure on-site work are performed safely, on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the customer. **How will you make a difference?** As a member of the field service team, you will be responsible to provide technical and operational solution, including but not limited to technician training, provide expertise on day to day repair and maintenance to technician, deliver sounded technical answer to MTRC enquiries. **What will your typical day look like?** + Assist Field Service Engineer in overseeing Field Service team included but not limited to manpower planning for performing field service works, liaise with customers, group sister companies (OE) for logistic & technical analyses, prepare progress / field services reports, and helping management for managerial work. + Provide technical and operational solution to Field Service Team for day-to-day task. + Repair and troubleshoot of mechanical and electrical components of PSD and APG systems, utilize soldering irons, multi-meters, power supplies, and oscilloscopes for electrical repair and testing. + Act as an instructor, provide training and guidance to team members. Prepare training materials and assessment to team members if needed. + Complete ad hoc assignments from Field Service and Operations Manager. + Any other Filed Service duties as assigned by the manager. **What do we want to know about you?** + Degree holder in E&M Engineering or other discipline. High diploma with sound experience / knowledge will also be considered. Candidate will higher qualification and experience may consider to be Maintenance & Field Service Engineer. + Familiar with a wide range of electrical repair and test equipment, including soldering irons, multi-meters, power supplies, and oscilloscopes. In-depth understanding of electronic circuitry and the ability to read and interpret schematics. + 3-5 years of relevant working experience, experience in rolling stock or related industries is a definite advantage. + Written and spoken Cantonese, English and Mandarin is a MUST. + Sound communication and interpersonal skills, able to deal with all levels of personnel. + Proven experience in staff supervision is an advantage. + Able to pick up different product lines knowledge & transfer to service team member. + Good team player, responsible, diplomatic, proactive, and able to work independently under minimal supervision. + Experience in quality control processes, Occupational Health and Safety and ISO standard is a definite advantage. + Experience in repairing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical components of PSD and APG systems would be an advantage. + Holder of REW(A) or higher certification **We are a 2025 Circle Back Initiative Employer – we commit to respond to every applicant** Additional Information **What could you accomplish in a place that puts People First?** At Wabtec, it’s not just about a job - it’s about the impact you make.
