Position Overview:The ADON/Educator leads and supports the nursing department, assisting the DON in staffing, personnel management, staff education, and infection control. This role ensures regulatory compliance and the delivery of quality nursing services while fostering staff development and professional growth.
Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Administrative:
Assist the DON with overall staffing, personnel management, and departmental operations
Act as DON in their absence under Administrator direction
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate nursing staff
Ensure adequate 24-hour nursing coverage
Develop, implement, and communicate nursing policies and procedures
Maintain compliance with State Board of Nursing, Nurse Practice Act, and other regulations
Education & Training:
Serve as Educator for nursing staff, including orientation, in-service programs, and continuing education
Oversee Nursing Assistant Training Program and ensure all nurse aides are properly supervised
Develop and evaluate educational programs for all facility personnel
Resident Care & Nursing Oversight:
Assess residents and monitor care needs through daily rounds
Supervise admissions, readmissions, and coordination of Medicare skilled services
Monitor therapeutic services, medication administration, and treatment schedules
Ensure residents receive a safe, clean, and supportive environment
QualificationsRN - Assistant Director of Nursing/Educator Qualifications:
Credentials as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) with a current state license in good standing in state which work is performedMinimum of two (2) years of nursing experience as an RN required five (5) years preferredMinimum of one (1) year of supervisory experienceMinimum of one (1) year of experience in geriatric nursing; acute care setting preferredValid, current BLS/CPR certification required (or willingness to obtainPrevious experience in nursing education, training, and/or performing in-services desiredDemonstrated proficiency in various computer applications, programs, and electronic medical recordsAbility to participate in facility on-call program which may include working at facility on evenings and weekendsBachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred EOE Statement WE ARE AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.
