Assistant Controller - Commercial Engines
Job Description SummaryThe Assistant Controller for Commercial Engines will be responsible for supporting GE Aerospace’s priority of providing accurate, timely and GAAP-compliant financial information for use by internal and external stakeholders. The role will support the Commercial Engines Controller with operational and technical accounting matters and deliverables. Key responsibilities include driving technical accounting compliance with U.S. GAAP standards, supporting the preparation, review, and submission of data requests for 10-Q/10-K filings, maintaining financial and operational internal controls, and leading accounting process simplification through the application of Lean principles.

Roles and Responsibilities

Provide and document technical accounting guidance on leasing, revenue recognition, contractual liabilities and financial statement disclosuresProactively communicate with Finance and FP&A to ensure the impact of accounting matters are understood and forecasted timelyAssist with the review of Commercial Engines balance sheets and align commentary with operational drivers across product linesAssist with preparing the quarterly Commercial Engines and Services (CES) Financial Reporting Package (FRP)Review quarterly disclosure requests, including RPOPartner with the Commercial Engines Controller on strategic initiatives, such as reducing close cycle timeLead annual and semi-annual reviews across product lines, including impairment reviews (e.g., intangibles and fixed assets) and physical inventoriesReview and approve monthly lease engine paymentsMaintain and update Commercial Engines SOPsEnsure internal controls over financial reporting are designed and operating effectively in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and remediate deficiencies timelyDrive adherence to U.S. GAAP, GE GAP, and GE Aerospace SOPsChampion FLIGHT DECK by applying Lean principles, developing standard work, and using structured problem solving

Required Qualifications

Certified Public AccountantBachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university or college8-15 years of experience in accountingStrong written and verbal communication skills

The base pay range for this position is $128,800.00 - 171,700.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary. This posting is expected to close on 01/26/26.
