( https://gohuskies.com/sports/2023/8/26/ica-candidate-dashboard.aspx) The Assistant Coach, Women's Rowing, will assist the Head Coach in the successful operation of the women’s rowing program. **RESPONSIBILITIES** • Assist with coaching, training and selection of student-athletes. • Management of general recruiting inquiries, scheduling and set up of official visits. • Rigging and preparation of equipment. • Build and maintain positive relationships with junior rowing coaches. • Evaluate and recruit local rowers and non-rowing prospects. • May participate in selection and training of novice student-athletes. • Maintain media outlets for the program through social media, alumni, and other areas. • Work with staff toward goal of excellence in all aspects of Washington Rowing. • Represent the University of Washington, the Athletic Department and the Rowing program with the highest professional and ethical behavior. • Prepare department reports and maintain records as required. • May assist with supervision and logistics of team travel. • Other duties as assigned. Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Pacific-12 Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS** • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year of successful coaching experience at the collegiate or elite level, or two years of successful experience coaching junior rowers, or two years of competing at the Senior National Team level. • Proven ability to relate to student-athletes. _Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration._ **CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT** The application process for UW positions may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
