Job Description
Seeking a dedicated Assistant Chief Engineer to oversee maintenance for a sprawling 850,000 square feet of office buildings in downtown Colorado Springs. This role involves performing essential repairs in electrical, mechanical, lighting, plumbing, and HVAC systems, requiring 3-5+ years of building maintenance experience.
ResponsibilitiesPerform basic repairs in electrical, mechanical, lighting, plumbing, and HVAC systems.Troubleshoot hot/cold calls and understand theory and controls.Manage hot spaces and troubleshoot issues without refrigerant.Work with fan coils, cooling towers, and dampers.Conduct plumbing tasks such as snaking 50+ feet, managing valves on urinals, and p-traps.Execute electrical tasks including changing T8s to LEDs and reading wiring diagrams.Conduct fire alarm system tests and ensure safety protocols are followed.Provide oversight for 3-4 Building Engineers, including scheduling and delegating work orders.Order parts and manage vendors using CMMS.Essential Skills3-5 years of commercial building maintenance experience.Proficiency in facilities maintenance, plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, HVAC, mechanical repair.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Work alongside a team of 3-4 Building Engineers and Facilities Maintenance Techs for each downtown building, reporting to the Facilities Director. Participate in an on-call rotation once every 4 or 5 weeks, with a service contact within 15 minutes and a requirement to be onsite within an hour, offering enhanced pay.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $43.00/hr.
