POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Athletic Director for Operations reports to the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. This role involves planning, executing, and assessing event operations and experiences for the wider campus community. It also plays a key role in developing and managing corporate partnerships and the Cougar Club (USF athletic booster club). Additionally, it supports other internal athletics department functions, particularly handling purchase orders, credit card statements, and other budget-related tasks.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS

Each function listed is essential for the successful performance of this job; this job description does not aim to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, or efforts related to this position. The supervisor, or designee, may assign additional job-related tasks or special projects. 

Travel may be required, and evening and weekend work will be heavily involved in this position. Plan, execute, and evaluate events and game day experiences for all programs- including certain annual events such as ‘SID shootout.’ Assist in the cultivation, execution, and fulfillment of Cougar Club memberships and Corporate Partnerships. Monitor athletics department budgets by analyzing and organizing purchase orders, credit card receipts, etc. Lead hospitality efforts offered to Cougar Club and Corporate Sponsor members on game days. Generate game day scripts in coordination with the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications. Offer ticketing administrative assistance and training when presented. Occasional content maintenance (website, social media, digital signage). Coordination of select game day workers in collaboration with athletics staff and human resources. Seek ways to enhance revenue, promotions, and attendance at all events. Facilitate efforts of livestreaming coverage for all home and special events. Direct and manage all functionality of the USF Cougars mobile app. Within the purview of the position, enforcement of NCAA, conference, and institutional policies and procedures as they affect ticket office operations. Responsible for adhering to all Department and University policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws, and interpretations of the Northern Sun Conference and the NCAA, and Title IX. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree required Experience with fundraising, sales, marketing, business, or a similar area preferred Higher education experience in an athletic administrative setting is a plus, but not required Commitment and ability to articulate the Christian mission of the University Exceptional communication skills: written, oral, and listening Demonstrated success or abilities in event planning Robust planning and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple relationships and priorities in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated ability to build business relationships Demonstration of a strong work ethic that contributes to a strong team effort and departmental success Proficient with desktop computer, Microsoft Office Suite, internet, printer/fax/copier A willingness to travel Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds; successfully pass required background checks as required by USF; valid driver’s license
