HYBRID CAPITAL OVERVIEW

Hybrid Capital provides flexible solutions for businesses seeking non-control alternatives to traditional private equity or greater flexibility than traditional debt. We have investments out of West Street Strategic Solutions Fund I, a $14bn fund raised in 2020, and are in‑market raising, and actively investing out of, Fund II. Analysts and Associates work as part of small deal teams in a wide range of high‑profile transactions across the capital structure ranging from secured debt to minority common equity. The role is highly analytical with emphasis on fundamental valuation, financial modelling, analysis of financial accounts, and legal documentation. The work is deal‑focused, dynamic, and will bring you in contact with a wide range of businesses, industries, geographies, investment structures and products as well as advisors and management teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Engaging in all aspects of due diligence and business analysis including but not limited to financial modelling and analysis, fundamental valuation analysis, market research, and competitive analysis to develop and refine investment thesesParticipating in structuring, negotiating, and documenting investmentsCommunicating and defending investment theses to internal stakeholders and committees, including relevant Asset Management and Firm‑wide Investment CommitteesActively monitoring existing investments in the portfolioOriginating investment ideas via early engagement with relevant parties (e.g., financial sponsors, company management teams, founders)Building relationships with sponsors, management teams, and internal Goldman Sachs stakeholders

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Investment Banking or Principal Investing candidate with 2 to 4 years of experienceStrong academic record with a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Business Studies, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline from a distinguished academic institutionPrior work experience in private equity or private credit is a plusStrong quantitative, financial modelling, analytical, and problem‑solving skillsPassion for investing with an interest in complex credit and equity investmentsFlexible and creative mindset; ability to analyze a variety of industries and businessesConfident verbal and written communication and interpersonal skillsSolid work ethic and high levels of motivationExcellent MS Excel skills essential and knowledge of MS PowerPointAbility to self‑direct, analyze and evaluate, and form independent judgmentsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $150000-$225000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
