Job Description

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Asset Protection Officer, who is responsible for ensuring the security of the mine site, its valuable assets and implementing security policies, procedures, and incident response protocols. This person will develop security education programs and training to raise the IT security awareness level relating to protection of company property and personnel, testify in all judicial proceedings in trial court relative to litigation (Civil or Criminal) that evolved from investigative activities within the Company, and perform other tasks related to Process Plant and Mine Site security. This role reports to the Supervisor - Asset Protection.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

Implements security measures to address identified vulnerabilities in routine operationsAnalyzes security footage to identify unusual activities or patternsMonitors compliance with organizational policies to prevent fraud or theftAssists in documenting incidents according to standard templates or guidelinesFacilitate and monitor the initial rollout of policies and identify any issuesProvide training and support to employees on new or updated policiesConducts routine checks to ensure all security systems are functional and aligned with operational need

QualificationsBehavior consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Ways

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree in criminology or security management.

Work Experience and Background:

Experience in security supervision in an industrial or similar environment.High level of integrity and ethical standards.Strong understanding of security protocols and compliance requirements in a high-value material environment.Strong knowledge of security protocols, policies, and procedures.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to lead and work effectively in a team.Proficiency in security and surveillance techniques.Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions.Proficiency in using security equipment and technology

Specialization/License:

License to Exercise Security Profession – Security OfficerCertified Security Professional preferred

Desired Qualifications

Former military or police officer.Proven experience in security operations, preferably within a mining or industrial setting.Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise security personnel effectively.Experience with security policy formulation and implementation.Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in security-related scenarios.Can drive light vehicle
