Asset Protection - Cash Loss Analyst

General Summary:
The Asset Protection Cash Automation Analyst is a role supporting Cash Loss management, supporting implementation and BAU operations for Dollar Tree related to cash loss, armored car and smart safes. The analyst is expected to analyze large data sets to isolate trends and business opportunities, aid project management and training of Dollar Tree field associates. The analyst will work to build solutions and recommendations to drive performance improvement for cash loss impacting monthly P&L, compliance for armored car services & smart safes within our stores.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:Conduct in-depth analysis using data collected & combined from multiple data sources to provide actionable recommendations for cash loss and compliance improvementResponsible for developing and delivering effective presentations and reporting solutions for Asset Protection, Operational & Treasury leadersManage the cash loss inbox and respond to all store/field email requestsProtect store safety by monitoring store cash amounts to prevent excess amounts from accumulatingEnsure timely issue resolution from vendors and/or internal business partnersResponsible for identifying opportunities and coordinating cash loss related projects across Asset Protection and cross-functional teams.Deliver reporting on a daily, weekly & monthly basis covering cash loss, usage and compliance performance · Review reporting and cash deposits/balance reports to identify possible cash loss in stores. Send to AP field teams for investigation.Support field and understand complete cash life cycle process for stores · Review with field team and determine when cash write-offs need to be pushed to the P&LSupport ad hoc data and analysis requests from leadership teams in Ops/AP/Treasury departments.Support financial reporting for monthly P&L cash loss leveraging systems such as IBM Planning & Analytics, Blackline, Navex, and CadencyConduct financial forecasting using historical trends, performance, upcoming initiativesCoordinate with field Asset Protection team to review exceptions and control cash lossPartner with vendors/third party project management teams on full cycle smart safe project implementation and cash loss impactsSubmit forms to vendors surrounding cash loss impactsCoordinate with field Asset Protection team to review exceptions and train field & store personnel
Major Tasks & Responsibilities:Perform data gathering tasks and analyticsIdentify trends, develop solutions, project planning and data analysisProduce daily/weekly/monthly cash loss reporting for field AP teams and leadership to review and utilize.Deliver presentations to teams, executive leaders and sponsors.Synthesize findings and make recommendations to upper management.Continuous improvement in all analysis & reporting to fine tune action itemsPrepare monthly P&L detailed explanations for variances for all cash loss lines · Develop a detailed project plan to track progressUse appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope & scheduleLead presentations and training sessions for field teams, cross functional & department leadersContinuous improvement in all analysis & reporting to fine tune action item
Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree Required or 3-4 years’ experience in analytical roleStrong computer skills (Expert Excel & PowerPoint)Experience leveraging business intelligence/query toolsGreat organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skillsExperience leading presentations & training sessionsStrong analytical & problem-solving skillsProject management experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skills
