Under general supervision, the Asset Protection Business Intelligence (APBI) Analyst II is responsible for transforming complex data into actionable insights to reduce inventory shrinkage, prevent theft and fraud, and improve overall operational safety and profitability. This role requires a strong blend of analytical skills, business acumen, and an understanding of loss prevention principles and technologies to identify trends, support the design of reports and dashboards, and recommend data-driven strategies to management, enterprise leaders, stakeholders, and various cross-functional business partners.

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Analysis & Trend Identification: Collect and analyze large datasets from various sources (e.g., EBR systems, inventory management software, security footage, incident reports) to identify loss trends, patterns, and areas of risk.Reporting & Data Visualization: Support development and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, SQL..) to track KPI’s and operational metrics related to Asset Protection efforts.Trend Identification and Predictive Modeling: Utilize statistical analysis and/or machine learning techniques to forecast potential loss areas and develop proactive prevention strategies. Strategic Planning & Recommendations: Fluency in Crime Analytics and ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for management and various business units (e.g., store operations, finance, supply chain) to mitigate risk and improve processes.Policy and Procedure Enhancement: Assist in the development, implementation, and refinement of loss prevention policies and procedures based on data-driven insights.Training & Education: Support the development and delivery of training programs for employees on loss prevention techniques, system usage, and best practices.Investigation Support: Collaborate with the Asset Protection Field, ORC, Real Estate and People Success teams to provide data and evidence that supports internal and external investigations, including reviewing security footage and transaction data.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Create and lead cross functional “test and learn” case studies on behalf of the department and partner with Operations, Finance, IT, and People Success teams to align loss prevention initiatives with broader business objectives and foster a culture of security awareness.Project Management as assigned by the AP Business Intelligence Manager.

 

An undergraduate degree (or 3-5 years relevant work experience) is preferred.Proficiency in data analysis and BI tools, including Excel, SQL, and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI).  Preferred experience in Alteryx.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the proven ability to interpret complex data sets, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data story conclusions clearly and concisely to diverse stakeholders. Advanced proficiency working with Microsoft Office products (seamless PowerPoint development and presentation) is required.Unquestionable integrity and professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential information.Strong planning/prioritizing skills are required.Working knowledge about retail asset protection and inventory shortage is preferred.Occasional travel in/out of town to attend training conferences is requiredNormal office demands
 

The pay range for this position is $66,200.00 - $88,100.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
