Job Summary:
As a Legal Entity Controller (LEC) within the Singapore and Australia Asset Management Legal Entities, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely submission of financial reporting and regulatory filings. You will focus on enhancing efficiency, delivering precise financial information, and collaborating with various groups to establish effective controls. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to engage in the analysis of legal entity implications for new business developments and changes in the regulatory framework.
The Asset Management finance team based in Singapore supports the finance functions for asset management business in Singapore, South East Asia and Australia The team is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join us and the candidate can expect a comprehensive role that encompasses financial control, regulatory, tax and management reporting.
Job responsibilities
Ensure accurate month end close process to complete close of books and records under US GAAP as well as local GAAP for Singapore and Australia Asset Management Legal EntitiesPerform analytical review to identify any significant misstatement on Balance Sheet and Income Statement, and liaise with other functions to identify business drivers for significant variancesInvolve in the monthly general ledger certification and substantiation processWork closely with the Regional MIS team in HK on financial planning and analysis processes such as monthly Flash vs Actual reporting and reviewing outlook revenue and expensesAssist in the regulatory, tax and management reporting.Support the annual statutory and tax audits in Singapore and AustraliaSupport the preparation of meeting materials for various location management committee meetings and regional finance control meetingsParticipate in working groups for projects and new initiatives impacting the Singapore and Australia Asset Management Legal EntitiesMaintain high level of internal control standardsRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline Candidates with a strong foundation, even fresh graduates, in finance are encouraged to applyDeep knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US GAAP.Excellent analytical skills with the ability to think broadly and connect diverse issues and tasks.Effective communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships with global counterpartsMeticulous and strong control awarenessCommitted, proactive and demonstrates initiative to drive better workflow efficiencyExcellent project management, multi-tasking and collaboration skills
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
At least 1 year of experience in a public accounting firm or a financial institution.Proficient user of MS suite of products (e.g. Word, Excel. Powerpoint)Knowledge/experience with one or several dash-boarding/automation tools (Tableau, Alteryx, Python, etc.)Familiarity with Risk-based Capital adequacy requirements for local regulatory reporting related to CMSL license legal entities is a plus
