Asset Design Engineer – Energy Infrastructure Projects

What You’ll Do + Design and develop utility and energy distribution assets using industry‑standard CAD tools. + Perform field investigations to gather data needed for accurate and efficient designs. + Support permitting activities by preparing documentation, drawings, and technical details. + Collaborate with engineering teams across civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines. + Apply design standards, safety requirements, and utility-specific guidelines. + Coordinate with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to drive successful project execution. Key Skills & Technologies + Design, drafting, and engineering fundamentals + AutoCAD or MicroStation proficiency + Experience in power system design, distribution engineering, or utility infrastructure + Familiarity with tools such as BOUD, Maximo, SolidWorks, or similar platforms + Understanding of civil, electrical, or mechanical design concepts + Field engineering experience a plus Top Skills We’re Looking For + Design & drafting + Engineering fundamentals + AutoCAD + Electrical or civil utility design + Power distribution or system design + Field engineering experience Qualifications Degree not required—strong hands-on experience is equally valued. Preferred educational backgrounds include: + Electrical Engineering Technology + Electrical Engineering + Mechanical Engineering + Computer Engineering Related experience in asset design, electrical distribution, or utility projects is strongly preferred. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
