The Sr. Portfolio Manager primary purpose is to ensure objectives related to credit underwriting and internal portfolio management are met, in addition to supporting the workflow of the Commercial Team of RMs and commercial lending associates. This position will provide approval within established guidelines for daily credit/portfolio administrative activity.
JOB PURPOSE
The Portfolio Manager builds credible relationships based on what is good for the Bank and what is good for the client, with a genuine belief that personal success will be a result of client success. Act as a CIBC’s senior relationship manager for commercial banking’s larger clients and prospective clients, requiring in-depth relationship coverage and customized financial solutions. The primary focus is on the origination of new clients, and new opportunities with existing clients. As primary relationship manager, the Senior Director holds ultimate client and credit risk accountability, and maximizes profitability of major account relationships ensuring RAR, and RAROC objectives are met.
What You'll Be Doing :
Manage a portfolio of Asset Based clients
Become a trusted advisor with our clients to deliver the entire bank to them
Hold client discussions to negotiate credit terms and structures
Meet all compliance and regulatory requirements
Negotiate legal documents with outside attorney

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
College Degree with Accounting/ Finance
10+ years of ABL credit experience
Working knowledge of ABLE or STUCKY operating system
Self-Starter, takes initiative
Basic Microsoft Office and web-enabled prospecting skills
Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
WORKING CONDITIONS
This role operates within a normal office environment
Travel required: 10%-20%

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $150,000.00- $200,000.00 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
