Job Title: Assembly Technician
Job Description
The Junior Cable Assembly Technician supports the production and assembly of cable assemblies, wiring harnesses, or other electrical devices initially under direct supervision. The Junior Technician will receive guidance and training from more experienced technicians and is expected to grow into more advanced responsibilities over time. This entry-level position involves working with various hand tools, power tools, and other production equipment. The technician will use learned techniques to ensure that cables meet industry standards and specifications. As a junior assembly technician, you will be trained on all applicable GPS's and be certified before beginning building cable assemblies.
Pay: $23 - $27/hr
Shift: First (1st) shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday
Responsibilities
Assemble basic cable assemblies and wiring harnesses according to technical drawings, schematics, GPS, and assembly procedures.Cut, strip, crimp, or solder wire and cable components to specified lengths and dimensions. Prepare cable for molding or potting operation by abrading and priming as required.Conduct basic tests to ensure cables and assemblies function correctly and meet quality standards outlined in the assembly procedure.Inspect all finished products for defects, ensuring cable assemblies compliance with technical specifications and assembly procedures.Assist in maintaining and organizing tools, equipment, and workstations.Assist experienced technicians and other team members to ensure production goals are met.Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.Utilize production equipment to perform job functions such as stripping, wire cutting, and tagging whenever possible to optimize efficiency.Use calipers, rulers, and tape measures to ensure accuracy of parts being produced.Essential Skills
