Assembly Technician
**Job Title: Turbocharger Technician** Job Description The Turbocharger Technician is responsible for all aspects of the overhaul of turbochargers and their components. This role primarily involves aiding the workshop team in achieving production targets by adhering to systems and processes. You will correctly use machinery and equipment on the shop floor, and read and interpret technical diagrams and instructions for the disassembly, cleaning, and assembly of turbochargers. Responsibilities + Start in the sandblasting area, engaging in cleaning, sandblasting, drilling, and tapping the product. + Perform assembly and disassembly of turbochargers and components in accordance with defined working instructions and quality standards. + Conduct regular quality inspections as part of a defined production process. + Use metric and imperial measuring tools such as verniers, calipers, micrometers, and gauges proficiently. + Clean turbocharger components using workshop machinery. + Ensure workshop machines are clean and maintained according to manufacturer instructions and local policies. + Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the workshop. + Review and evaluate shop and service working practices, suggesting and implementing corrective actions to enhance service performance. + Conduct shop floor operations in compliance with health and safety guidelines, reporting any non-compliance. Essential Skills + 1 to 2 years of experience working as a mechanic or mechanical assembler. + Ability to use hand and power tools. + Mechanical aptitude. + Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics. + Experience with overhead cranes, sandblasting, grinding, and drilling. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school graduate, Trade School preferred, or equivalent. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bolingbrook, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
