Job Title: HVAC Assembler

Job Description

The HVAC Assembler conducts prebuild inspections of components and performs basic mechanical and/or electrical assembly of components to build HVAC units for use in the rail car industry according to drawing specifications.

Responsibilities

Conduct prebuild inspections of components, noting any pre-existing or handling damage prior to starting the build process.Utilize approved manufacturing work instructions and use hand, pneumatic, and power tools to assemble components according to drawing specifications, while adhering to quality requirements and best practices.Install gaskets, insulate units, and install and tighten hardware during assembly processes.Prepare surfaces and apply sealants and taping using approved cleaning methods and drawing specifications during various stages of the build process.Inform supervisor of any part or equipment defects noted during the cleaning process.Monitor the shelf life of consumables used to complete the build process and follow all established disposal methods.Provide support and assistance to other technicians and team members as directed by the Cell Leader or tenured Personnel.Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment, ensuring compliance with company rules and policies.Comply with quality, product safety, and HSE rules, guidelines, and regulations, and be energy conscious, if applicable.Understand and comply with applicable standards, including ISO/TS, ISO, and CMMI.

Essential Skills

Ability to assemble HVAC units according to drawing specifications.Proficiency in using hand, pneumatic, and power tools.Experience with mechanical assembly, particularly in the HVAC industry.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.Understanding of ISO 9001 and other relevant ISO standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

HVAC or education is ideal.Entry-level candidates with experience using tools like ratchets, screwdrivers, and torque wrenches are welcome.Experience in mechanical assembly or electro-mechanical assembly is a plus.Manufacturing experience in an electrical field is beneficial.

Work Environment

The work environment is a very clean and modern manufacturing facility. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally, the employee must lift or move up to 50 pounds. The role involves performing duties on a computer terminal. The shift is from 7am to 3:30pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WESTMINSTER, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.14 - $18.14/hr.
