Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Assembly Technician to join our team. This role involves assembling units, parts, equipment, and components according to blueprints and specifications, utilizing hand tools and power tools.

Responsibilities

Assemble units, parts, equipment, and components in structural assembly using hand and power tools.Bolt, screw, or rivet accessories to fasten, support, or hang components and subassemblies.Drill holes in structures and subassemblies, attaching brackets, hinges, or clips for secure installation.Locate and mark reference points and holes for installation using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments.Inspect and test installed units, parts, and equipment for fit, performance, and compliance with standards.Position and align subassemblies in jigs or fixtures using measuring instruments, following blueprint lines and index points.Cut, trim, and file parts to verify fitting tolerances in preparation for installation.Install bushings using liquid nitrogen or presses as required.Apply sealants or paint per customer specifications using proper safety devices.Utilize shop equipment such as C-squeeze, arbor presses, ground stud puller, cherry pullers, and shop hand tools.

Essential Skills

Assembly skills with hand and power tools.Ability to read and follow work instructions and blueprints.Basic math skills.Mechanical and electrical assembly experience.Level 1: 6 months of assembly experience.Level 2: 1 year of assembly experience.Level 3: 3 years of assembly experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Aerospace assembly experience is preferred.Mechanical aptitude.Proficiency in Microsoft Windows.

Work Environment

Work in a machine shop that manufactures structural parts for aerospace. Shift hours vary by location: AMT Location offers 1st Shift from Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm and 2nd Shift from Monday-Thursday 4:30pm-3:30am, while Damar Location offers 1st Shift from Monday-Friday 5am-1:30pm.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
