Job Title: Assembler - Brakes

Job Description

The HVAC Assembler is responsible for conducting prebuild inspections of components and performing both mechanical and electrical assembly of components to construct HVAC units for the rail car industry. This role requires adherence to drawing specifications and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

Conduct prebuild inspections of components, noting any pre-existing or handling damage before starting the assembly process.Utilize approved manufacturing work instructions and use hand, pneumatic, and power tools to assemble components according to drawing specifications.Perform assembly processes including the installation of gaskets, insulation of units, and installation and tightening of hardware.Prepare surfaces and apply sealants and taping using approved cleaning methods and drawing specifications during various stages of the build process.Inform supervisor of any part or equipment defects noted during the cleaning process.Monitor the shelf life of consumables used and follow all established disposal methods.Provide support and assistance to other technicians and team members, and perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment and ensure compliance with company rules and policies.Comply with quality, product safety, and HSE rules, guidelines, and regulations, and be energy conscious.Understand and comply with applicable standards such as ISO/TS, ISO, and CMMI.

Essential Skills

Experience in electro-mechanical assembly and mechanical repair.Ability to perform electrical repair and work with sub-assemblies.Experience with HVAC assembly and electronic assembly.Proficiency in reading circuit boards and blueprints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

HVAC or schooling is ideal.Entry-level candidates with experience using tools such as ratchets, screwdrivers, and torque wrenches are considered.Manufacturing experience in an electrical field.Ability to use a wide range of hand and power tools, including complex test rigs and fixtures.

Work Environment

The work environment is a very clean and modern manufacturing facility. Employees are required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle tools, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Duties may involve working on a computer terminal. The standard shift is from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WESTMINSTER, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.14 - $18.14/hr.
