**Job Title: Mechanical Assembler** Job Description Join our team as a Mechanical Assembler where you will play a crucial role in assembling compressors, blowers, and vacuum pumps. You will work with a variety of machined parts and use tools such as hand tools, power drills, and portable gas heating equipment to ensure precise assembly according to specifications. Responsibilities + Fit and align machined parts, including bearings, diaphragms, impeller wheels, blower casings, shafts, and gear cages. + Scrape bearings to fit shafts using hand scrapers and abrasive paper. + Screw and bolt mechanical parts together to assemble gear cage assembly. + Shrink impeller wheels, sleeves, spacers, and balance piston onto shaft to form spindle. + Caulk metal sealing strips into seams to form seals between components. + Lift and position spindle into casing, aligning diaphragm to spindle and casing. + Level beams supporting bedplates using transit, master straightedge, and levels. + Align and level blower, induction gear, oil tank, and drive unit on bedplate. + Drill, tap, and ream holes for mounting bolts and dowel pins. + Install inlet and discharge piping, attaching instruments like barometers and thermometers. + Dismantle units from test pits, cleaning and oiling parts prior to shipment. + Conduct specified tests to determine blower performance and record instrument readings. Essential Skills + Experience with air tools and power tools. + Understanding of basic motor functions, torque specifications, and gauge knowledge. + Ability to read and interpret SOPs and engineering drawings. + Proficiency in using tape measures and rulers. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Ability to take feedback constructively. + Experience in general labor, assembling, and inspection. + Comfortable working on production lines and assembling sub-assemblies. Work Environment The work environment is located in a newly acquired, clean, climate-controlled building. You will work alongside 4-6 people on each line, with the most skilled employee leading the line. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Mill, South Carolina. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
