Job Description
Join our team as an Assembler specializing in coil winding. As a Coil Winder, you will be responsible for creating coils used in electrical equipment and instruments, as well as electronic components. This role involves operating coil-winding machines and utilizing hand tools to wind coils in accordance with wiring diagrams, sample coils, or work orders. Your expertise in wire soldering will be an essential asset as you ensure coils are wound evenly and uniformly, reinforce them, and seal them appropriately.
Responsibilities
Review wiring diagrams, work orders, or sample coils to determine wire type, size, and coil specifications.Select and fasten coil-forming devices onto the machine arbor, mandrel, or spindle.Thread wire through tension devices, guides, and spreaders, attaching the lead to the coil core.Adjust wire tension and set the counter for the specified number of turns.Start the machine and manually feed the wire over the coil core for even and uniform winding.Observe the counter and stop the machine at the specified number of coils.Wrap insulation between layers and around the wound coil, or insert plastic blocks to form cooling ducts.Cut wire to form leads using wire or bolt cutters.Shape end windings or remove the coil from fixtures using a hammer or mallet.Wind asbestos, cotton, glass mica, paper, or tape around the coil, and apply varnish, epoxy, or wax for reinforcement and sealing.Strip insulation from lead wires, thread lead wires through insulating sleeves, and solder lead wires to terminals.Test coils for winding continuity using a test lamp.Essential Skills
Minimum of 1+ years of manufacturing experience.Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and work orders.Proficiency in using coil-winding machines and hand tools.Attention to detail and ability to ensure uniform winding of coils.Knowledge of insulation materials and techniques for reinforcing and sealing coils.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Additional Skills & Qualifications
1+ years of assembly experience in manufacturing.6+ months of hand tool usage, including hammers, Circlip Pliers, pullers, etc.Knowledge of ITAR regulations.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Experience a smaller team environment with roughly 10 total employees. Enjoy a casual dress code. Work hours are from 6am to 3:30pm Monday through Thursday, and 6am to 10am on Fridays.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
