Job Title: Assembler

Job Description

As an Assembly Technician, you will join a dynamic team responsible for performing a variety of repetitive processes using varied machines and hand tools to complete the assembly and sub-assembly of component parts. You will be working primarily in the Assembly Cell to put together sub-assemblies, add caps, ensure alignment, and run them through the press machine. Your role will include performing quality checks and packing finished coolers into shipping containers.

ResponsibilitiesWork in the Assembly Cell to put together sub-assemblies and add caps, ensuring they are aligned.Run assembled units through the press machine and perform quality checks.Pack finished coolers into shipping containers.Conduct testing using air pressure after the pressing process.Remove plates after assembly and pinning, and manage press tubes through the oven zone.Measure distances between end baffles and copper tube ends using calipers.Use a glue gun as per work order and insert 'Cores' into the casting for the pinning and pressing process.Maintain records relating to production, downtime, quality, and maintenance.Ensure all quality standards are met by visually inspecting work and/or using measuring devices.Keep work area, equipment, and machines clean and orderly.Perform necessary computer transactions using various applications and software programs.Perform miscellaneous job assignments and related functions as directed by Team Lead, Manager, or other designated person.Essential SkillsMechanically inclined with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience.Proficient in using power tools.Strong attention to detail.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.Basic arithmetic skills (MDAS, decimals) and reading comprehension at an 8th-grade level.Direct manufacturing assembly experience is a plus.Hand dexterity and ability to work with both hands.Ability to use basic hand tools.Safety conscientious and willing to cross-train.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work occurs on the 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Thursday, in a climate-controlled facility. The pressing operation and assembly cells have been upgraded for optimal temperature control. Team members work in cell groups of 3 to 6 individuals, lifting up to 35 lbs, with heavier lifts requiring team assistance or hoists. The facility prioritizes safety, going over 5 years without a work loss injury. Our organization is a long-standing community employer known for its involvement and employee investment. The dress code requires PPE, including steel-toe boots, long work pants, safety glasses, and optional hearing protection. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
