Asphalt Paving Foreman
**Aerotek is looking for a Asphalt Paving Foreman!** **Job Description** The role requires overseeing and supervising asphalt paving crews on various projects. Work hours are roughly 10-12 hours per day from Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends depending on workload or weather conditions. The base location is in Freeport, PA, but if living near the site, driving directly to the site is possible. **Responsibilities** + Perform asphalt restoration, tar and chip sealing, asphalt sealing, crack-filling, and line striping. + Serve as a working foreman, involved hands-on in the successful completion of projects. + Review all projects for potential safety hazards and create plans to address them. + Ensure all truck operators and crew members have appropriate training and licenses. + Oversee job site safety, including parking trucks and trailers safely and setting up traffic control and signage. + Supervise projects such as commercial parking lots, city streets, county and state roadways, and interstate highways. + Maintain a strong focus on safety and enforce safety policies while ensuring quality work. + Read and interpret plans and specifications related to application rates, grades, slopes, and drainage. + Manage all operation aspects including material ordering, logistics, maintenance, and external services. + Coordinate with other foremen, plants, crews, subcontractors, and vendors. + Ensure daily maintenance and housekeeping, and submit pre-trip inspections daily. **Essential Skills** + Minimum of 3 years of experience in an asphalt supervisory role. + Ability to lay out a job from start to finish. + Experience with asphalt paving, stone set-up, and milling operations. + Proven track record of completing jobs under budget and on time. + Ability to manage logistics and coordinate between various stakeholders. + Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Hardworking and open to overtime; able to handle seasonal layoffs. + Ability to drive and pull a trailer. + Willingness to learn to operate machinery like rollers and skid steers. + Proficiency with GPS grade and slope control. + Computer skills required. + Driver’s license with a safe driving record. + Knowledge of local customers, materials, and specifications is preferred. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy fully paid benefits including health, vision, dental, and 401k.
