**Job Title: Roller Operator $25-32/hr (Weekly Pay)** **Job Description** Join our team as a Roller Operator where you will play a key role in our asphalt paving crew. You will be working on a variety of outdoor projects including commercial and residential paving, lot and land clearing, and utility work. This is a full-time role averaging 50 hours a week, primarily during the warm months. **Responsibilities** + Operate, maneuver, navigate, or drive vehicles or mechanized equipment such as forklifts or passenger vehicles. + Use control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes. + Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. + Use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards. + Meet company and customer specifications for all trench or backhoe jobs. + Expose underground utilities manually. + Conduct post-job quality checks. + Clean, check fluid levels, and conduct a visual inspection of equipment to ensure optimum safety and complete required paperwork. + Communicate daily with the supervisor to turn in required paperwork. **Essential Skills** + Minimum 1-3 years of experience with asphalt work. + Experience operating heavy equipment and/or asphalt paving equipment. + Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions. + Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift. + Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling. + Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions. + Ability to work well independently and as part of a team. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + One (1+) year of experience in backhoe/mini excavator operation is required. + One (1+) year of experience digging and working around underground utilities is required. + Two (2+) years of experience in dry utilities preferred. + Experience reading basic prints and Underground Facility Location Sketch is preferred. + Ability to operate backhoe, excavator, dozer, and other excavation equipment. + CDL license preferred but not required. **Work Environment** This role involves working outside on job sites with tasks such as paving parking lots, grading cuts/fills, lot/land & tree clearing, utility work, footers and foundations, new home site construction, driveway construction, dirt and gravel roads, landslide repair, large/small retaining walls, storm water pipes & ponds, and underground storm water detention systems. **Why Work Here?** We offer a supportive work environment that values teamwork and individual contributions.
