International Protective Service, Inc., an Allied Universal® Company, is hiring an Armed Security Officer. The Armed Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of the facilities they protect. Our Armed Security Officers allow us to accomplish our company’s core purpose which is “to service, secure and care for the people and businesses in our communities.” Armed Security Officers act as a visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions; they detect and report suspicious, unsafe or criminal acts at or near their assigned posts which may be a threat to the property, clients, guests or employees at the site.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

Associate's degree or higher in Criminal Justice or protective service related fieldLaw enforcement experienceMilitary experienceThree (3) or more years of experience as an armed security professional

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

Able to complete all range qualifications and functionsMinimum of 21 years of age (or higher if required by the state)Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employmentAs a condition of employment, an employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local lawsExcellent communication skills; able to articulate and write clear and concise incident or situation reportsAble to:Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow, or heatOccasionally lift or carry up to 40 poundsClimb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shiftStand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of timeHigh school diploma or equivalentPrior security or related protective service experienceExcellent communication skills; able to articulate and write clear and concise incident or situation reports

This role is a driving position.

To qualify to operate a company or customer-owned vehicle, candidates must possess:

A valid Driver’s License At least one year of driving experience A clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months)A minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide high quality security services, safeguarding personnel, property, and informationConduct patrols within and around the facility on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to ensure the protection of people, assets, and sensitive or classified informationPreserve order and enforces rules, regulations, and directives for the viability of the siteMaintains proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices and weapons.Greet guests and employees, assisting where appropriate; escort visitors and contractors, secure ingress and egress points, secure classified informationFollow site-specific performance manuals and post orders, reporting safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances via written and verbal communication; interact with client and/or other security personnel regarding order execution when appropriateRespond to and assesses security alarms or emergency alarms; act as a first responder in emergency situations and provide first aid as necessary
