The Area Business Manager (ABM) is a key commercial leader responsible for driving sales performance and execution excellence across a defined geographic territory for the cardiometabolic portfolio within the Established Products franchise. Reporting to the Franchise Head, the ABM leads a team of Key Account Managers (KAMs), providing strategic direction, coaching, and performance management to ensure delivery of business objectives.
This role collaborates cross-functionally with marketing, medical, market access, and other internal partners to ensure customer-centric execution and maximize impact with key healthcare professionals. The ABM plays a critical role in fostering a high-performance culture, championing compliance, and driving operational excellence to sustain and grow the portfolio in a competitive market environment. Through strategic leadership and meaningful engagement with the healthcare system, the ABM contributes to improving patient outcomes and delivering long-term value to both customers and the communities we serve.
**Main Responsibilities:**
**Sales Strategy & Execution**
+ Lead the sales force in the execution of national and regional brand strategies and tactics.
+ Ensure achievement of sales targets and optimal allocation of A&P resources.
**Business Planning & Performance Management**
+ Oversee territory business planning and implementation aligned with brand and customer strategies.
+ Set clear objectives and KPIs; monitor and analyze performance metrics (e.g., sales, omnichannel engagement) to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
**Customer & Key Account Engagement**
+ Support team in managing key accounts and building strong relationships with HCPs, including KOLs, physicians, and nurses.Guide development of strategic account plans based on ecosystem insights, barriers, and opportunities.
**Cross-Functional Collaboration**
+ Collaborate with Brand Leads and cross-functional teams to shape and adapt Glocal brand strategies to local market needs and care pathways.
+ Coordinate with support functions to ensure optimal product supply, access, and distribution.
**Omnichannel & Innovation Leadership**
+ Champion a high-touch, omnichannel customer engagement model, integrating F2F, digital, and peer-to-peer channels.
+ Embrace and coach innovation in field execution, including AI tools and digital platforms.
**Field Execution & Campaign Implementation**
+ Monitor local execution of brand campaigns via field visits and HCP feedback.
+ Drive cross-functional coordination to enhance local engagement planning and brand strategy alignment.
**Training & Development**
+ Ensure ongoing development and execution of a robust training plan tailored to evolving field needs.
+ Stay current on therapeutic area and product knowledge, guiding continuous team learning.
**People Leadership & Talent Development**
+ Lead, coach, and manage a high-performing team of Key Account Managers.
+ Partner in talent development planning, performance management, and employee engagement.
**Compliance & Governance**
+ Champion adherence to Sanofi compliance SOPs and ethical standards in all field and customer interactions.
+ Proactively manage health and safety requirements, including road coaching expectations.
**Financial & Resource Management**
+ Deliver on regional financial objectives through effective budget planning, resource allocation, and regular business reviews
**About You**
**Experience** :
+ Minimum 7-10 years of experience within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry and knowledge of the Canadian market
+ 2 years of sales management in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience preferred
+ 2 years of direct sales experience in pharmaceutical industry preferred
+ Proven experience in leading a high performing team to deliver on results

**Education** :
+ Bachelor's degree in business, life sciences, or a related field.
**Languages** :
+ Strong communication and presentation skills in English (French is a plus) both written and verbal

This position is eligible for a company car through the Company’s FLEET program.

The salary range for this position is:
$105,200.00 - $151,933.33
