We are seeking a hands-on architectural professional who is eager to be deeply involved in all phases of design and documentation. This role is perfect for a mid-level architect with 4–8 years of experience, who is confident in production, curious about design, and eager to collaborate closely with firm leadership in a principal-led studio environment. Exceptional candidates with 3+ years of experience will also be considered. You will work on multiple projects simultaneously, driving design concepts forward while producing coordinated, client-ready drawing and presentation packages. ResponsibilitiesSupport early-phase concept and design development.Produce and coordinate architectural drawing sets in Revit, including plans, sections, details, and construction documents.Maintain high standards for accuracy, coordination, and graphic clarity.Use hand sketches, diagrams, markups, and digital tools to explore and communicate design ideas.Help prepare client-ready presentations and graphics using Adobe Creative Suite.Research zoning and code requirements and assist with permit submissions.Coordinate with consultants, track deliverables, and follow up on outstanding items.Participate in site visits and support construction administration efforts as needed.Work closely with the principal and project teams to advance designs efficiently.Communicate proactively by sharing updates, flagging assumptions, and documenting decisions.Surface decisions, propose options, and offer recommendations to move work forward.Collaborate effectively with in-house teams and outside consultants, integrating feedback thoughtfully.Essential SkillsStrong proficiency in Revit, with experience producing complete drawing sets.Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).Highly organized, reliable, and proactive.Experience in residential and commercial architecture.Client interfacing skills.Construction administration and project management experience.Additional Skills & Qualifications4–8 years of professional experience in an architecture firm (exceptional candidates with 3+ years will be considered).Ability to work onsite in Washington, DC and contribute meaningfully from day one.Work EnvironmentThe work environment is a principal-led studio with meaningful mentorship opportunities, allowing for hands-on involvement across all phases of work. The office space is a shared environment with approximately three team members, offering direct collaboration with the principal.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, DC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.06 - $36.06/hr.
