**Job Title: Apprentice Mechanic**
**Job Description**
We are seeking an experienced Apprentice Mechanic to join our team and play a vital role in installing and repairing mechanical systems on yachts. With several new projects lined up, you will have the opportunity to work on various innovative yacht projects.
**Responsibilities**
+ Collaborate with production and project managers to establish estimates, schedules, material orders, and production details.
+ Operate all standard machinery and deck equipment efficiently.
+ Perform duties such as welding, rigging, engine service, electrical repair, and pump and piping tasks.
+ Make recommendations for equipment, tools, processes, and supplies to enhance project quality and meet targets.
+ Incorporate and support a culture of continuous improvement to increase efficiencies and reduce costs.
+ Maintain a strong attention to detail and demonstrate safe work practices at all times.
**Essential Skills**
+ 3+ years in a mechanical role.
+ 3+ years of experience with hydraulics and pneumatic systems.
+ Experience with pipe bending.
+ Level 3 or 4 apprentice with registered hours.
+ Proficiency in blueprint reading.
+ Experience as a Marine Mechanic, Millwright apprentice, or Heavy Duty Mechanic.
+ Skills in rigging.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ New Build marine experience.
+ Confined space training.
+ Marine Mechanical certification.
+ Marine engineering or equivalent experience, including on-board experience with shipyard periods.

**Work Environment**
You will be reporting to the Mechanical Lead, primarily working on the shop floor in a covered, heated building. The shifts are Monday to Thursday, from 6:00 AM to 4:15 PM. The work environment is collaborative and supportive, with a focus on innovation and quality.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, British Columbia.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
**Workplace Type**
This is a fully onsite position in Richmond,BC.
