We anticipate the need for one or more Apprentice Maintenance Technician / Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Operator(s) to be located at the Black Ave Plant in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The starting base Journeyman pay for this position is $61.95 hourly (2025 rate).
If position is filled with an Apprentice, pay may be adjusted in accordance with union contract. Applicant skills and qualifications will be evaluated and, in conformity with union contract a successful applicant will be offered a position at an appropriate step level or as a journeyman.
Minimum apprentice pay levels as a percentage of base Journeyman pay:
1st Step: 60%
2nd Step: 65%
3rd Step: 70%
4th Step: 75%
5th Step: 80%
6th Step: 85%
7th Step: 90%
8th Step: 95%

Summary
The successful candidate will learn and understand the Black Ave facility. LNG plant operational procedures to be able to safely and efficiently operate the plant. Will provide safe and proper maintenance and operation of the Gas Plants in Wisconsin (LNG), Chromatographs, and Gas TBS Telemetry equipment.
The safe operating and maintenance activities will be for the following:
Eau Claire Black Ave. LNG plant
Gas Chromatograph Equipment throughout the service territory.
Town Border Station (TBS) monitoring (SCADA) equipment throughout the service territory
Gas Distribution monitoring (SCADA) equipment throughout the service territory
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Must be committed to working safely and compliance with all company safety rules
Must be able to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds
Must reside within 20-mile radius of the Black Avenue LNG Plant
Valid driver's license
Willingness to travel and work away from home
Special Requirements:
Must have good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships in a team-oriented environment
Must be able to work in extreme hot and cold temperatures, at high heights, in noisy atmospheres
Requires participation in after-hour emergency callouts in all kinds of weather conditions
Commitment to successful participation and advancement in apprenticeship program
Preferred:
Additional education, such as a technical vocational or associate degree, in gas utility construction
Good mechanical ability and knowledge of natural gas is helpful
Knowledge or experience of controls and control systems.
Knowledge of Natural Gas and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) systems and equipment
CDL (Class A) license
Basic computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Ability to read blueprints and schematics
