Application Integrator L3 Administrator / Engineer (APIs & Protocols)
Location: Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore,Pune
Role Overview:
The Application Integrator L3 Administrator is responsible for advanced design, management, troubleshooting, and optimization of enterprise application integrations. This includes API management, middleware integration, and protocol based connectivity across heterogeneous systems. The role requires deep expertise in integration technologies, strong problem solving skills, and the ability to resolve complex issues independently while ensuring seamless interoperability between applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L3 support for escalated incidents related to application integrations, APIs, and middleware.
- Design, implement, and maintain API integrations (REST, SOAP, GraphQL) across enterprise applications.
- Manage and optimize integration protocols (HTTP/S, FTP/S, MQ, JMS, TCP/IP).
- Administer and enhance API gateways and integration platforms (MuleSoft, Apigee, Azure API Management, WSO2).
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to data exchange, authentication, and connectivity.
- Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and monitoring of integration workflows.
- Implement security controls for APIs and integrations (OAuth, JWT, SSL/TLS, certificates).
- Automate integration tasks using Python, PowerShell, or Ansible.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure seamless interoperability.
- Lead root cause analysis for integration failures and document resolutions.
- Maintain knowledge base and documentation for integration patterns, APIs, and troubleshooting guides.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- 7–12 years of experience in application integration with strong L3 expertise.
- Hands on experience with API design, development, and management (REST, SOAP, GraphQL).
- Strong knowledge of integration protocols and middleware platforms (Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, Tibco, MuleSoft).
- Expertise in authentication, authorization, and secure data exchange.
- Experience with cloud integration services (Azure Logic Apps, AWS API Gateway, GCP Apigee).
- Familiarity with DevOps pipelines and CI/CD integration deployments.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation for integration tasks.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Ability to lead critical incident resolution and mentor junior integrators.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect, Apigee Certification, Microsoft Certified: Azure Integration Services.
- Experience with event driven architectures and microservices integration.
- Exposure to monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics) for integration visibility.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management.
