Application Engineer - Data Centers

Daikin Applied is seeking a Sales Application Engineer- Data Centers. The Sales Application Engineer will support domestic and international sales rep's efforts to select, apply, and modify units as necessary to meet application requirements and satisfy specifications so that Daikin can successfully bid and win data center projects. Includes providing guidance in software use; optimization of unit selections and product family use; create instructions, performance data, and pricing for special unit configurations; and positioning of product mix to effectively compete in the data center marketplace. In this role, you will work closely with the Daikin National Accounts Data Center team to satisfy customer requirements and help inform product management of market needs. Location: Staunton, VA – Hybrid

What you will do:

Provide instructions to production engineering and drafting groups for non-standard unit designs and construction.

Collect field feedback and competitive data for product development and market analysis.

Communicate suggested modifications to the company’s products/services to meet customer requirements. Provide feedback to product management for product services requirements not met by the current product line.

Lead factory tours to visiting reps, engineers, contractors and building owners.

Provide product and software training of sales representatives, engineers, contractors, and building owners.

Support annual regional roadshows.

Supply technical expertise for rep presentations to engineers, contractors and building owners.

Create and present content for lunch-and-learn for customers and online for sales reps.

Provide technical assistance to the Technical Response, Warranty, Customer Service, and Aftermarket Parts groups to facilitate accurate and thorough support of Daikin's post-sale customer experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related field

2+ years of relevant experience

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $74,200 - $120,700 in Virginia. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade in which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
