We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager/Project Manager with 5-10+ years of experience in the construction industry, particularly someone who has worked on projects ranging from $5-20 million. The ideal candidate will have experience as an Owner's Construction Management Representative to join our on-site Construction Management team for a $500 million revitalization project at the National Air and Space Museum on the National Mall in Washington, DC. The position involves managing the moving and reinstalling of museum artifacts before, during, and after construction. Excellent communication skills and being a proven team player are essential.
ResponsibilitiesOversee the moving and reinstalling of museum artifacts before, during, and after construction, with the project duration expected to be at least three years.Prepare a Contract Procurement package (RFP) including plans, specifications, and reference appendices, coordinating all aspects with multiple stakeholders.Manage an existing construction contract, ensuring compliance with schedule, budget, quality, submittals, and RFI requirements.Issue change directives (PCN) and manage the change process, including scope issuance, technical evaluation, cost estimation, and negotiation.Manage site logistics and security access, ensuring proper permits for transport and crane operations, and coordinate delivery times with stakeholders.Work closely with internal stakeholders to reconcile divergent priorities.Essential Skills5-10+ years of experience in construction or a comparable industry.Experience with at least one project in the $5-20 million range.Experience as an Owner's Construction Management Representative is preferred.Proficiency in managing construction contracts and coordinating logistics.Excellent communication skills and proven teamwork abilities.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working with a General Contractor.Experience in coordinating shipping logistics and tenant office moves.Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager with 3-5 years of museum work in construction.GIS experience, particularly utilizing ESRI for interiors projects.Engaging personality for interaction with owners, engineers, contractors, and government officials.Work EnvironmentThe position is on-site at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC, with no option for remote work initially. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, DC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.65 - $48.08/hr.
