Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable Specialist who will play a crucial role in our financial operations. The successful candidate will ensure the timely and accurate processing of vendor payments, manage invoice approvals, and perform account reconciliations to maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial transactions. This role will be integral to our month-end closing processes and compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
ResponsibilitiesApprove invoices and ensure proper documentation and approvals are in place before payment processing.Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor payments.Perform account reconciliations to verify all transactions are recorded accurately.Assist with month-end closing processes related to accounts payable.Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant accounting standards.Resolve vendor inquiries and issues related to payments, credits, and billing discrepancies.Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure efficient processes.Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accounts payable operations.Assist with audit preparation and provide documentation for audits.Essential SkillsStrong understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online and NetSuite.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including analysis and pivot tables.Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.Attention to detail and accuracy in financial transaction processing.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to identify and resolve issues or discrepancies in records.Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards in accounting.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience (3+ years) in accounts payable processes and financial systems.Work Environment
Our new headquarters in the Design District offers a state-of-the-art work environment with amenities such as free lunch and a lounge. The finance team consists of two members, with the Accounts Payable Specialist being the third addition. This position is based in Pittsburgh, PA, and will collaborate with a dynamic team experiencing significant growth, with a 135% increase from 2023 to 2024 and expected further growth in 2025.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.84/hr.
