Job Title: Anodize Operator

Shifts and PayM-F6 am - 2:30 pm10 am - 6:30 pm$20-30/hour (DOE)

Job Description

The Anodize Operator is responsible for processing parts for anodize plating and other coatings, adhering to Military and OEM specifications. This role involves managing various operations in the Anodize department.

ResponsibilitiesSet up, maintain, and operate electroplate equipment to plate parts and materials to required thicknesses.Perform visual and dimensional inspections, maintaining accurate documentation according to specifications and quality programs.Assist and train other operators and helpers on operational procedures.Operate plating processes including anodize, chrome, nickel, cadmium, electroless nickel, copper, silver, and passivate.Follow verbal and written Engineering and Quality Control instructions as per process procedures, metal finishing sheets, and blueprints.Maintain attentiveness to process details and equipment, including timers, temperature controllers, and rectifier meters.Handle processes such as fixtures/racking, masking, surface activation, and use of bleeders for uniform plating.Provide input and assist in building/repairing electroplating fixtures.Perform pre- and post-processing tasks including degreasing, cleaning, blasting, scrubbing, visual and dimensional inspection, baking, and oiling.Assess plating tank conditions via tank side testing or sampling (e.g., pH).Perform part marking, shipping identification, and paperwork.Use measuring tools and gauges to measure parts and test panels.Maintain required logs, documents, and records as per process controls.Move material within the cell using material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.Perform minor equipment maintenance like anode and cathode bar cleaning, rack stripping, and changing filters.Perform more than one operation at a time as directed by the Department Supervisor.Inventory, receive, and sign for incoming plating materials and supplies.Work with a positive attitude and report any questions or problems to the department supervisor.Perform other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed.Essential SkillsHigh school diploma or GED with three months or more related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.Experience as an electroplater in the aerospace and defense industry, 1 to 2 years minimum.Ability to operate and maintain equipment safely.Additional Skills & QualificationsWillingness to learn.Knowledge of chemical processes, general production, and general labor.Detail-oriented and cleaning skills.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment consists of a production building with both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned areas. Employees must be able to lift 50 pounds, alternate between standing and sitting for 8 to 12 hours, have 20/20 vision or correct to it, hear well, distinguish colors, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. The ability to stoop, bend, and use arms and hands is required. The shift is on the first shift, Monday through Friday from 6 am to 2:30 pm. Overtime is a possibility but not guaranteed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, Arizona.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.05 - $28.57/hr.
