Anodize Operator
Job Title: Anodize Operator Level 3Job Description

As an Anodize Operator Level 3, you will be responsible for applying anodize and chemical conversion coating pre-treatments to aluminum parts, ensuring corrosion resistance and improved adhesion for paint primers. This role requires expertise in both sulfuric and chromic acid anodize applications, as well as manual and tank processing of chemical conversion coatings.

ResponsibilitiesApply sulfuric and chromic acid anodize processes and chemical conversion coatings according to specification requirements.Familiarize with and execute racking techniques and pre-cleaning operations including degreasing, alkaline cleaning, and etching.Perform cleaning of anodize equipment and tooling, racking, and unracking of parts.Conduct inspections of finished products and guide lower-level anodize operators.Gather necessary supplies such as racks, tooling, baskets, and carts.Maintain racks and racking implements, including stripping and repair.Use personal protective equipment (PPE) during specific tasks and comply with safety directives.Complete documentation, counting of production parts, computer scanning, and packaging for transport.
Essential SkillsExperience in aerospace, racking, and cleaning processes.Proficiency in anodizing and chemical treatments.Basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.Ability to stand for prolonged periods.Good communication skills and ability to read, write, and understand English.
Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious anodizing experience and machine operation skills.Ability to perform receiving inspections and report any damage or discrepancies.Strong attention to detail and self-motivation.Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced production environment.

Work Environment

The position is based in a large production facility that specializes in anodizing, paint prep, and painting aerospace parts. The environment includes exposure to chemicals, solvents, occasional fumes, wet/humid conditions, and moderate noise levels. Appropriate PPE is required for certain tasks, and the facility houses approximately 200 employees.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.25 - $43.75/hr.
