Job Description
This position is responsible for all aspects of animal care and ascites production, including the daily tasks of tapping, injection, cage changing, cleaning, and nursery information.
Responsibilities
Complete goals and projects as assigned in a timely fashion.Demonstrate a good understanding of ascites production activities, such as priming and collecting, by performing related tasks with minimal supervision.Change cages and monitor animals to ensure their well-being.Supply animals with food and water on a regular schedule.Assist with interdepartmental needs to ensure smooth operations.Maintain effective and professional communication and working relationships with company personnel.Maintain confidentiality.Follow the company’s quality policy in all daily activities.Scrape dirty cages and station them for washing.Load the cage washer with scraped cages and run them through the cycle, handling manual washing of scraped cages when necessary.Work occasional weekend and overtime hours as necessary.Essential Skills

Exposure to animals in a similar capacityDegree in science-related field, such as animal science, zoology, or animal handlingHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredWork Environment
The primary work environment is a regulated bioprocessing setting, which includes laboratory and warehouse facilities. Employees must be able to routinely lift 35-50 lbs during the course of the work shift and wear personal protective equipment, including face coverings, gloves, and lab coats. The role requires standing and sitting for long periods, stooping, reaching, and pushing and pulling carts throughout the shift. Adherence to bio-safety and chemical hygiene practices is mandatory when on the manufacturing floor or in laboratories. Employees may be required to work outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, to support business needs.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boca Raton, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.82/hr.
