Anesthesia Tech Job, Day Shift, Anesthesiology

Powers Health is hiring for a full-time anesthesia tech to work days for anesthesiology at Community Hospital in Munster, IN.

The Community Hospital Dept of Anesthesiology is full service under the direction of a Board Certified Anesthesiologist. The model used within the department is based upon a team approach, whereby anesthesia services within the operating room and in off-site areas may be provided solely by an anesthesiologist or by a CRNA under the supervision of an anesthesiologist. The department also receives support from anesthesia techs, surgical nurses, respiratory therapists, and clerical staff.

Anesthesia Tech Roles and Responsibilities:

Accountable to the Medical Director of Anesthesiology and the surgery Nurse Manager. Maintains and stocks anesthesia equipment and supplies (assuring PAR values) as directed by the Anesthesia Department. Keeps a record of the anesthesia equipment and stocks supplies in each cabinet and/or anesthesiology carts in the surgical suites and throughout the operating room where indicated. Assists with surgical case turnover in all operating rooms and off-site anesthetizing locations. Ensure the technical equipment in functioning properly, carts are stocked appropriately, equipment is decontaminated and processed after each use. Assist the anesthesiologist and CRNAs with securing and wasting non-controlled substances.

 Required Skills & Qualifications:

Associates degree or equivalent of 2 years’ experience as an anesthesia technician or 2 years working in a surgical or perioperative services area.
