As a Data Analyst within the Strategy, Innovation & Governance Data team in the Payments Operations organization, you will work to provide data insights, visualizations, and metrics dashboards. You will analyze business requirements, design, build, test, and produce data insights and operational reporting to support management decisions. You will collaborate closely with Product Owners and Operations to develop requirements and implement new capabilities, ensuring team standards are adhered to while proactively engaging in continuous process improvement.

 

Job responsibilities

Perform data mining, analytics, and problem solving Analyzing business requirements, designing, building and testing to ensure the delivery of high-quality data insights and visualizations. Work closely with Product Owners and Operations to develop requirements and implement new capabilities 
- Understanding of the data sources to use and ensure team standards are adhered to 
- Proactively engage to mitigate risk through continuous process improvement, root cause analysis, and collaboration with Operations teams 
- Work as part of an agile team 
- Continuous learning as new tools/technology become available to the team 

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a quantitative field or an equivalent combination of education and/or business experience. 7+ Years of experience in business system analysis or business application design and development role5+ Years of experience with SQL, Python, Alteryx or another programming language in a work-related capacity is requiredAdvance knowledge of Microsoft Office productsExtensive knowledge of database design and relational database principles, prior experience with large scale data warehouse.Working knowledge with Business Intelligence tools (Tableau, Business Objects). Agile experience or experience of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Polished written and verbal communication skills; confidence in communicating internally at all levels; demonstrated ability to clearly define and articulate business requirements, and to bridge the gap between business and technology, ability to summarize findings into concise high-level points geared towards the audience and visually depict key data and findings Proactive, self-motivated and flexible with a positive attitude; efficient at multi-tasking and able to work independently under pressure to deliver business demands on-time, to a high-level standardExcellent analytical/problem-solving skills with the ability to provide sound recommendations to management

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

Proficiency with querying enterprise databases using SQL to obtain relevant data for analysisExperience with writing code using Excel/Alteryx and SQL and perform statistical descriptionExperience with TableauProven strong analytical and communication skillsAptitude and curiosity for developing automated solutions to solve business problemsGood understanding of operations within banking industry; preferably with knowledge of payment processing.
