Job Title: Analytical Chemist

Job Description

The Analytical Chemist will support the development of new commercial animal health products for companion animals and independently manage Analytical Development projects, focusing primarily on oral solid doses. This role involves writing protocols, interpreting data, and performing analytical testing to advance product development projects.

Responsibilities

Conduct analytical testing including HPLC, UPLC, Dissolution, and other chromatographic methods.Perform various wet chemistry and physical property testing for quality control of samples, including pH, sulfated ash, titrations, and TLC.Prepare samples of raw material, intermediate, and finished products for analytical testing.Log samples and document processes according to GMP guidelines.Conduct stability testing following established protocols.Dispose of samples and carry out lab clean-up duties as required.Support routine testing workload in the Analytical R&D Lab when not focused on individual projects.

Essential Skills

Extensive experience with HPLC or UPLC, preferably with Agilent systems.Proficiency in analytical chemistry and chromatography.Ability to write protocols, design experiments, and operate independently.Experience in a GMP environment with method validation.3-5+ years of industry experience in Analytical R&D or QC, preferably in pharmaceuticals.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with Quality by Design (QbD) or Design of Experiments (DoE) methodology is a strong plus.Statistical analysis skills are advantageous.A Master's Degree in a related field is acceptable.Dissolution experience is strongly preferred.

Work Environment

This position is based in an R&D Analytical Lab with a team of 6 analytical professionals, including a supervisor and manager. The work shift is Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a flexible start and end time. The team is diverse, interactive, and collaborative, encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving. The culture supports self-direction while providing assistance when necessary, ensuring compliance with accurate documentation for late-stage product development projects. The role includes 2 weeks of PTO (accrued) and 6 paid holiday

This is a Contract position based out of Bridgeton, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
