Job Title: Analytical Chemist

Job Description

The Analytical Chemist will be responsible for conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis of chemical substances and materials to ensure compliance with specifications, support product development, and maintain quality standards. This role involves using advanced analytical techniques and instrumentation to provide accurate data for research, development, and production processes.

Responsibilities

Conduct chemical analysis on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using techniques such as DMA, TMA, DSC, TGA, FT-IR, NMR, SEM/EDS, GCMS, XRF, and Thermal conductivity.Present data, reports, and findings to internal and external customers.Develop, validate, and optimize analytical methods in accordance with regulatory and internal standards.Interpret and report analytical data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established protocols.Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and troubleshoot technical issues.Prepare detailed documentation including test reports, SOPs, and validation protocols.Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Production teams to support product development and problem-solving.Ensure adherence to ASTM and safety standards within the laboratory environment.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to innovation in analytical processes.

Essential Skills

Strong knowledge of analytical instrumentation and method development.Proficiency in data interpretation and statistical analysis.Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently while producing accurate reports and maintaining data integrity.Quick learner with strong technical aptitude.Proven track record of making key contributions to project success.Passion for exploration with an investigative mindset.Experience identifying smart digital solutions for testing and data quality improvements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related field.1–3 years of experience in analytical testing within a chemical, pharmaceutical, or materials industry.Hands-on experience with NMR, GCMS or other analytical instruments in a professional lab environment.Experience with industry specification compliance (ASTM).Familiarity with LIMS systems and digital data management.Knowledge of polymer or elastomer analysis.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Plymouth, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $34.00/hr.
