Analyst, MHCV forecasting - Mobility

The Team: This role is part of the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle (MHCV) forecasting team at S&P Global Mobility, with a focus on powertrain and components. The team helps clients understand the future of MHCV technology, alternative fuel adoption, engine outlooks, and the global regulatory landscape, among other topics. By combining deep technical detail with high-level market analysis, the team provides critical insights during an unpredictable and unstable period for MHCV manufacturers, suppliers, and other industry participants.

S&P Global has recently announced the intent to separate our Mobility Segment into a standalone public company. This role is intended to migrate into the Mobility spinoff.

Responsibilities and Impact: You will support the execution of strategic objectives and contribute to research and forecasting activities. This role offers growth opportunities through the development of technical skills, research expertise, and professional networks. Primary responsibilities include researching and analyzing market-specific powertrain production and sales, and communicating insights to clients through written analytical reports, forecast datasets, in-person meetings, and special consulting projects.

Research and analyse market specific MHCV powertrain production and sales.

Utilize strong analytical skills to answer critical industry questions.

Utilize specialized knowledge of the commercial-vehicle market to enrich MHCV databases and cascade actionable information to our clients.

Networking with key contacts in the automotive industry to validate data.

Present regional forecast to clients in custom reports and intelligence briefings.

Efficiently deliver research and forecasts using advanced Excel skills, internal artificial intelligence (AI) tools, and client-ready PowerPoint presentations.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

Fluency in English is required, strong verbal and written communication skills.

A bachelors’ degree, preferably in business, marketing, engineering, or statistics.

Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint. 

3-4 years’ experience in automotive planning, research or forecasting.

A solid understanding of the powertrain market is a plus.

Attention to detail & initiative are a must.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess and interpret information.

Well-developed relationship building skills.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Presentation skills gained with small and large audiences.

Experience in the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle industry is a plus.

Flexibility and the ability to creatively solve problems.

Team player.
