Job Purpose
The primary focus of this position is to support the ICE Data Indices (IDI) product team in New York, mostly working with fixed income indices, including working with and understanding bond analytics. The candidate will be part of a team working on the design, verification, and release of new index builds. The role includes supporting the production of research publications and client-facing materials, requiring strong written communication skills. The candidate must be comfortable working individually and in collaboration with the team.
The position involves the design of new index and methodology prototypes and working with quant and development teams for their implementation. Once the index is approved and coded for production, the position also requires verification and checking that the correct rules have been applied to the new indices and the calculations are accurate. The position requires working with large amounts of data and analyzing and interpreting it, both at the index and underlying security level. Knowledge of Excel tools is a fundamental part of the job, as is knowledge of Python and SQL. Many tasks will be carried out using the ICE Index Platform, which will be learned on the job. Knowledge of equity and fixed income index calculation methodologies will be needed and will be acquired if not currently possessed.
Responsibilities
Work with IDI product, R&D and quant teams to design and build bespoke and standard indices and prototypes to meet client demandContribute to research publications, market commentary, and index methodology documentation with clear, concise writingVerification of new index builds and the validation of calculated dataWork with Python and large spreadsheets including both index and securities data, using the tools needed for the corresponding analysisAnalyze, interpret, and validate data and analytics both at the bond and index levelWork with databases and carry out analysis using Excel tools and/or PythonCommand of and use of the ICE Index Platform will be fundamental to carry many tasks, e.g. Index Constituents, Profiling tool, Data Download, Custom Index tool, etc. Learning about the Platform will be on the jobApply problem-solving skills to identify innovative work-flow efficiencies and process improvements resulting in increased accuracy levelsPrepare charts, tables, and written analysis to effectively communicate complex index data and trends to internal stakeholders and clientsAd hoc research or data analysis to support IDI product team globally
Knowledge and Experience

New York Base Salary Range
The expected base salary for this role, if located in New York, is between $80,000 - 115,000 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange’s incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual.
