Job Description

What is the opportunity?

You will be an Investment Banking Analyst supporting the Energy Coverage Team based out of our Houston, TX office.

What will you do?

Assist in the execution of M&A and financing transactions, develop new business presentations, and conduct detailed financial analysisWork with deal teams in development of pitch books and related client materialsCoordinate with Industry, Product and other groups to evaluate and execute business opportunitiesProactively identify operational risks/ control deficiencies in the businessReview and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activitiesEscalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions on a timely basisOther such duties, responsibilities and authority as may be reasonably required.

What is needed for success?

Bachelor’s degree, MBA, MA or MS or equivalent with emphasis in finance/accounting/ engineeringMinimum of one year of Investment Banking experience and previous experience in the Energy spaceExperience executing M&A deals specifically in relation to financial institutions and ability to lead transaction execution on multiple deals at a timeSolid understanding of capital markets; outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; strong knowledge of finance and accounting and advanced financial modeling skillsHighly motivated with demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities and requestsAbility to take initiative and function independently, balanced with strong teaming skillsStrong written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills with ability to maintain relationships at all levels of organizationMust maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct.Series 79 and SIE licensedValue and possess strong competency in the following behaviors: Collaboration, Relationship Building, Communication, Integrity and Operating with Diverse and Inclusive Mindset

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $110,000 - $135,000 depending on class year and factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
